Every year millions of children in the United States are abused, neglected or abandoned. Eventually, many of these children end up in court where a judge must decide their future. To ensure he was getting all the facts and the long-term welfare of each child was being represented, a Seattle judge came up with an idea that would change America’s judicial procedure and the lives of over a million children. He recruited his staff; the idea caught on and was developed. Now community volunteers called Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteer to step into courtrooms on behalf of abused and neglected children.

    What we do –

Provide a stable home for homeless teens that live in a variety of unsafe, temporary situations – including cars, parks, shelters, motels, and couch surfing.

Provide a support system for participants in the USI program, allowing the youth to focus on obtaining their high school diploma or equivalent

Teach life skills, such as resume writing, budgeting, goal setting and achievement, and personal advocating, so that once they graduate the USI program, they become productive, independent members of society.

Stop the intergenerational cycles of homelessness
